Just got back from work and it’s such a beautiful evening here in the Cambrian Mountains. just right for the hill race in Rhayader tonight. Carnival week is well underway, at home the campsite has been mowed and I’ve decided to leave the raspberries, that is was going to pick to the birds. Being truthful the reality is that they beat me to it! I’ll wait for September when there’s always a good few and less competition.

Super Super Summer
I really can’t believe that in still only June and we have got all the harvest in at Doliago. The weather has been so good. Smiles all round and happy farmers. They are forecasting a bit more of an unsettled spell but the Met Office forecast shows an improvement once we get into July – that’s only a week away. Just right for a weekend break. Anyway we can’t have it too dry – we’re farmers – we need rain to make the grass grow – and to keep the hills of the Cambrian Mountains and the Elan Valley so green and beautiful.

Bleddyn has been off shearing today and it won’t be long before we’ll be ready to shear at home.
